CHESS ENGINE INSTALLATION IN TARRASCH GUI
(GUI = Graphical User Interface)
Follow the steps described below. If you wish to use the free Rybka demo, you can start using Rybka within Tarrasch immediately, as Tarrasch uses this engine by default.
STEP 1
Copy the chess engine to a directory on your computer. If you installed Tarrasch in the default location, then C:/Program Files/Tarrasch/Engines is a logical directory to use.
STEP 2
Open the Tarrasch GUI
STEP 3
Click on OPTIONS and then on ENGINE, you should see something like the picture below.
STEP 4
Click on BROWSE you will see something similar to this picture
Find the directory where you had copied the Rybka engine to.
Select the engine file (e.g. Rybka v2.3.2a.exe).
Click Open.
You are done with the installation.
STEP 5
You can start using the engine now. To do that, click on PLAY WHITE to play a game against Rybka as white, or click on PLAY BLACK to play a game against Rybka as black, or click on COMMANDS START KIBITZER to start Rybka analyzing.
